CIRCLE V MAINES YOUR NORTHWEST CONNECTION TO MAINE-ANJOU CATTLE
|
My wife and myself are the 4th generation to ranch in the state of Oregon we are located in Vale. We have been raising Maine-anjou cattle since 1995. Through my wifes research we discovered the Maine cattle. We introduced our first Maine sire, whom we called Dozer (PP Bar D-8). We purchased him from Pat Patterson of Fort Collins Colorado. Upon seeing our first calf crop we purchased additional bred heifers from Pat. We also purchased bred Angus females From Von Ferells Wheatland Wyoming. These cattle became the foundation from which we built our present herd on. We have continued to enhance our genetics with high quality registered Maine and Angus females focusing on marbling, fat and birth weight. We have been purchasing females from throughout the west finding the best of the best. Our goal is to develop highly functional cattle that work in all environments be it the pasture or show ring. Our calves aren't crept fed. Our operation believes a great female is born to stand alone. |
